After impressive productive credits including DS2 and What a Time to Be Alive, AllHipHop reports that Metro Boomin will be joining Chief Keef in the studio for a new EP.

The popular, and often troubled, rapper announced the news via his Twitter account.

Chief Keef's career exploded with his song "I Don't Like (Ft. Lil Reese)." The music video for the song instantly went viral in Southside Chicago high schools, where Chief Keef was raised. Soon the video and his other tracks began to circulate around the Internet and make waves in the music industry. Eventually, a bidding war ensued over the rapper, concluding in a deal with Interscope Records. This enabled Keef to become CEO of his own label, Glory Boyz Entertainment. Further, his debut studio album, Finally Richdebuted at number 29 on the Billboard 200, with first-week sales of 50,000 copies in the United States. As of March 27, 2013, the album has sold 152,000 copies in the United States.

Unfortunately, legal trouble plagued the rapper throughout his career, and he was eventually dropped by Interscope. After being arrested on gun charges and put on parole, Keef filmed a video for Pitchfork in which he is seen freestyling and shooting weapons in direct violation of his parole. This stunt landed the 20 year old in jail, and hindered the promising musical career he could have had.

However, it seems Keef is ready for a resurgance. After being dropped by Interscope last year, Keef continued releasing mixtapes and collaborating with like-minded artists. Chief Keef released Nobody, a full-length LP, in December 2014. Now, he continues his drive for fame and musical success with his collaboration with Metro Boomin. Hopefully the EP will be fruitful for the two young artists, and will reaffirm Keef's dominance in the rap game.
