Chief Keef fans are still waiting for part two of his Bang 3 two part album / mixtape, but out of the blue the Chicago rapper decided to drop a brand new mixtape with his frequent producer collaborator DP Beats. The new mixtape Almighty DP 2 is the follow up to his first Almighty DP mixtape, which was released on April 1 earlier this year.
Almighty DP 2 is what you might expect with street driven trap beats from DP Beats and garbled lyrics about money, women and guns from Keef. It may be enough to tide over hardcore Sosa fans for a little while, but most just want to hear the polished beats and lyrics expected on Bang 3 Pt. 2.
It has been hard to pinpoint what that release strategy is for Chief Keef with all of the seemingly random mixtapes and singles mixed in with the real prize - his Bang 3 album, which has had an interesting release itself . Part 2 is slated to drop on Sept. 18. Let's hope this new mixtape doesn't indicate a delay in the album release.
One must admire that DP Beats put the mixtape tracklist in alphabetical order for all of those potential listeners and downloaders who have OCD about non-alphabetical tracklists.
