Though Middlesbrough isn't considered much competition for a team like United, manager Aitor Karanka isn't expecting Manchester to hold back.
"In the previous round against Ipswich, they even played David De Gea in goals, so I am expecting them to play with their best players," he said, according to BBC. "They are better than last season and have a lot of quality players such as Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata and Anthony Martial. They can change the game in one second. They are quick in the transitions and we have to be careful. Their squad is amazing."
According to Manchester United's official website, coach Louis Van Gaal revealed his squad is suffering a number of injuries.
"I have a lot of players in the 'red zone' because we have had a lot of matches and we have a lot of matches to play. I have to see if I can use them or not," he said. "I have to decide tomorrow [Wednesday]. We need all the days to recover at this moment, so it is difficult to say."
