Ariana Grande stopped by the celebrity radio show, Zach Sang and the Gang, this week for a conversation about her early friendship with Katy Perry, the embarrassment of her old music and her appearance in Zoolander 2.

The pop star has been relatively silent ever since the donut licking incident earlier this year, but now she's back in the news with a new music video for her single, "Focus," and some new interviews for her latest press run.

Her conversation with Sang and the Gang was light-hearted and fun as they started with a question about balancing new friends and old friends. She immediately thought of Perry as one of her best new friends and talked about how the "Roar" singer has really been a positive, nurturing figure for her in the craziness of the music industry.

"I went to (Perry's) show at The Staples Center a couple years ago and I was totally inspired by it and was like 'Wow, I wanna do this one day,'" Grande said on the radio program. "And then just three years later, I had my own show there, and she came, and she held my hand in the prayer circle and ... she was like 'girl, you were here a few years ago watching me and now I'm here watching you, you better kill it girl.' So she's always been really supportive."

Grande was also asked about her older music, specifically, "Put Your Hearts Up," which she said she can't listen to anymore. "That's like scrolling too far back on Facebook," she said.

Looking back, Grande described that time as a moment in her life where she was very ambitious and driven to sing in her career, but was ultimately confused and torn between herself and the character she played. Comparatively, she feels more in tune with who she is now and is more confident in herself.
