One Direction is just one week away from the release of its fifth and latest album Made in the A.M., and the boy band is celebrating the upcoming LP by rolling out another new song. And this one is special for the fans.

"History" tells the story of One Direction, utilizing handclaps, the strum of Niall Horan's acoustic guitar and a singsong melody. Lyrically, the song reassures fans that 1D can "live forever," and that even though Made in the A.M. is the highly publicized last new 1D album before the band takes a lengthy hiatus, the band will continue to live on.

One Direction cite that new tattoos, cars, private planes and rumors aren't what makes the boy band the sensation they are - it's all about the friendship and music. "You and me got a whole lot of history / We could be the greatest thing that the world has ever seen / You and me got a whole lot of history / So don't let it go, we can make some more, we can live forever," the band sings in the chorus.

And, if the handclaps and massive amount of voices in the chorus seem to resemble a live One Direction set, that's because it is. According to Horan, the band brought some very lucky Directioners in to the studio to perform with them for this song.

"History" is the latest single to be released from One Direction's new album Made in the A.M. The record is due to be released on Nov. 13.
