As was recently reported, Kanye West lives quite a lavish lifestyle. Even compared to the celebrity stories many have heard in the past, Kanye makes famed divas like Mariah Carey look tame. The rapper controls everything in his life, from the shapes of the vases in his hotel room, to the amount of follicles on his head. However, many would assume his close-cut, shaved hairstyle would be relatively low maintenance. In fact, one might even assume he maintained the style himself, as there is very little hair left on his head. As it turns out, Kanye spends a whopping $500 a day getting his head shaved.
According to The Independent, this news surfaces after Rihanna's father, Ronald Fenty, who spent a month on tour with his daughter and witnessed Kanye's daily routine and demands, told Heat Magazine "It's crazy - Kanye gets a haircut every day. He pays his barber $500 a time. I don't understand how that much hair gets taken off. Kanye just loves the fresh look."
Kanye's barber is a man named Ibn Jasper, who is renowned for his classy, stylish cuts. Apparently he moved to New York from Chicago after Kanye demanded it, telling him he couldn't get the right cut in New York City. According to the Independent, Jasper said, "Whenever he was wearing [his] orange hat, it meant he'd gotten a f----d-up cut in NYC. He asked me to move to NYC and I told him, 'When you can pay me what I make in the shop, then I'll move.'"
Evidently, Kanye had no issue making the payments, as the hairstylist now works full time for Mr. West. According to Complex, "...if Fenty's story is legit, that means West spent more than $182,500 a year--three times the amount the average American family made in 2014."
