Death Cab For Cutie has remixed Yoko Ono's track, "Forgive Me My Love," for her upcoming collaborative effort, Yes, I'm a Witch Too. The band's experimental interpretation might not be what you're expecting to hear.
The collaborative album is due out February 19 and features covers and remixes of songs that span the musical career of the former Beatles roadie. Aside from Death Cab, other artists that are slated to appear on the album include tUnE-yArDs, Peter, Bjorn and John and Sparks.
The album serves as a follow-up to 2007's Yes, I'm A Witch, which recruited the likes of Cat Power, Spiritualized and Antony Hegarty, among others. Before the release of Ono's new remix album, however, the singer will timely release a 7" vinyl with The Flaming Lips, consisting of a cover of Ono and Lennon's Christmas song, "Happy Christmas (War is Over)." The release is due out on December 11.
According to NME, Ono returned to Videy, Iceland earlier this year to once again celebrate the life of late husband John Lennon, stating, "I'm always so proud that John's legacy just grows and resonates with new generations all around the world." Each year since 2007 on Lennon's birthday (Oct. 9), Ono has lit the Imagine Peace Tower in Iceland, which is put out on December 8, the anniversary of his murder.
Yes, I'm a Witch Too will be available for purchase as a deluxe CD, a double vinyl set and digitally.
