Steve Harvey is known for showing his humorous side often but, very rarely does he show his emotional side. That all changed on his daughter Karli Harvey's wedding day. The Original Kings of Comedy star couldn't hold it together as he walked his daughter down the aisle to give her away, and his emotions got the best of him.
EUR shared the video footage of the Act Like A Lady Think LIke A Man author having a one-on-one conversation with Karli. In the video, Harvey shares with her how this day, her wedding day, is what they had been waiting for since she was a child, but he still didn't want to let her go. He told his daughter "no crying until the end," but the daytime talk show host had trouble following his own advice and became overwhelmed with emotion when it was time to give her away.
Karli stated how the entire day had been an emotional one, and expressed her gratitude toward her father for everything he'd done for her and her special day. "I am overjoyed for the love that my father has shown me," the new bride stated in the video. "I am grateful for him taking the time, and the energy and putting forth the effort to make sure that this day is the day of my dreams."
The wedding took place on Sept. 26, according to Essence, and Harvey featured a special "Karli's Wedding Countdown" segment on his talk show. Even on the show, he became overwhelmed with emotions telling the audience, "I didn't know I would be affected by it all this way, but I am." He explained, "It's difficult to give your daughter away." Harvey also had some words of wisdom for his new son-in-law, Ben Carson, during his talk show segment. "You just got to do what you promised me you would do, man," Harvey told Carson. "I'm just counting on you to do that. Like I told you, you have to take care of her, because if you don't, I'm going to take that personally, man—and I got to do something about that."
