Deadmau5, the moniker of Canadian progressive-house producer Joel Zimmerman, challenged Aaron Carter to a video game battle after the American pop-star uploaded a trap-ish remix-of sorts of Zimmerman's 2012 glitchy track, "The Veldt." TMZ reports that Carter's rep has confirmed that he's accepted the challenge and the battle is tentatively scheduled for the week of November 23rd. They obviously plan on live-streaming the showdown on Zimmerman's Twitch.TV page, where the artist premiered a previously unheard track this week.

As Spin points out, when Carter uploaded the video to Instagram, he failed to mention that it was a remix of a Deadmau5 track that was named after a Ray Bradbury story. The producer's fans were quick to call-out the pop-star, prompting him to re-caption the clip and to give credit where it is due. This is where Zimmerman came in with a tweet asking what most followers were already thinking: "Y u do this?" The exchange eventually leads to Zimmerman challenging the late '90s/early 2000s teen star in a head-to-head game of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The winner gets the remix rights to "The Veldt" and the loser cleans the winner's house.

Say what you will about Deadmau5 and his Twitter feed full of drama, but he tends to be a pretty good sport. This time, he's showing off his good sportsmanship by offering to fly Carter up to Canada so both gamers can play on the same LAN.

Between touring, dealing with various lawsuits, dishing out countless servings of Twitter beef and challenging child pop-stars of the past, it's no wonder that Deadmau5 reportedly hasn't been all that focused on music this past year. The producer has been sharing hours upon hours of himself experimenting (and gaming) on his live-streaming Twitch channel. During one such livecast this past week, he "opened and played a new track finished in WAV format, possibly indicative of a final product exported from Ableton," Your EDM reports. The new track, entitled "NVIDIA," can be heard towards the end of the artist's Twitch.TV video from November 9th, but thanks to YouTube user Ridwan Azeez, you can avoid sitting through an entire day's worth of Deadmau5's livestream and hear the new track, below.
