Today marks the beginning of Pathway to Paris, a two-day period of events and concerts that allows artists, musicians, activists and sustainability consultants to brainstorm ideas in hopes of diminishing climate change just before the UN climate change meeting commences. Just ahead of both events, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea and Radiohead front man Thom Yorke found themselves in Paris a bit early, ready to reunite for a performance of "Atoms of Peace" on French TV show Le Grand Journal.

The two musicians first teamed up in 2009 when they crafted supergroup Atoms for Peace, which shares its name with one of Yorke's 2006 solo album The Eraser tracks, Pitchfork notes. The duo, joined by filmmaker, author and social activist Naomi Klein, were interviewed during their time on the show. Climate change was of course the topic of conversation paired with the sold out Pathway to Paris events including the concert both Yorke and Flea are expected to perform.

"I'm here because as much as I am shocked and saddened by completely harebrained politicians saying that climate change is not real and that the globe is not warming as a result of human activity, I'm also, my heart is warmed by all the people that have so much love and care for the planet," Flea explained in the video below.

"It's only this summit where the disinformation campaign that's being conducted by oil companies...has finally ceased to work," Yorke added. "And we as a global people now accept the signs. There's no more arguments, but unfortunately the mechanics of creating an agreement haven't really caught up with that. We're still in a situation where we're leaving it to an outdated mechanisms, we're leaving it to corporate lobbyists, we're leaving it to politicians whose information is bought and it makes me nervous that they are the ones in charge of this. However, this is all we've got."

Pathway to Paris takes place from December 4 to December 5, with "Horses" singer songwriter Patti Smith also slated to perform along with the Atoms for Peace band mates.
