What would you do to ensure your family's privacy and well-being were secure? In the case of actor Chris Hemsworth, the best way to bring those plans into full fruition was to move his family half way around the world. During a recent interview with Parade, the In the Heart of the Sea star explained why he decided to move his wife and kids to Australia after feeling suffocated in Los Angeles.

The 32-year-old Melbourne native made the decision to move to Hollywood after he was discovered by manager William Ward in 2007. Before making a name for himself on the big screen with films like Thor and Avengers: Age of Ultron, Hemsworth made appearances in various soap operas and Australia's Dancing With the Stars.

In the midst of building a lengthy resume, Hemsworth fell in love and started a family with his wife, actress Elsa Pataky. As his career continued to grow, so did the attention he received by fans, the media, and of course, paparazzi.

The father of three soon realized he wanted to offer his family a change of scenery with more breathing room and less chaos.

"We’d leave the house and there would be six paparazzi out in front," Hemsworth told Parade. "In L.A., more than anywhere else in the world, paparazzi are everywhere, 24/7. We felt suffocated. The agitation you feel from the paparazzi rippled in the house.”

After meeting through mutual representatives, Hemsworth and the 39-year-old model wed during the 2010 Christmas holiday season. The couple welcomed their three-year-old daughter, India Rose, in May 2012 and one-year-old twin sons, Tristan and Sasha, in March 2014.

Hemsworth, who's currently promoting his upcoming film surrounding a traumatic sea adventure and a massive whale, believes he made the best move by relocating his little crew to Byron Bay. Living down under in a "surf town surrounded by farmland," has even allowed him to think about life after acting.

Until that time comes, Hemsworth is enjoying every minute with his family. The Rush star recalled a joyous ride in the car when he fell asleep in his daugher's lap and she began patting his head and singing a song through her pacifier.

It was then he realized just how much they equally needed each other. Hemsworth wouldn't trade that moment with India Rose for the world.

"No, I think they’re protecting us," Hemsworth told Parade. "Sitting in the car with my head on her lap and her singing to me, there was this understanding of, ‘Wow she’s looking after Dad, and that’s her job.’ You know? And that was such a joy. Oh, there’s nothing better! It was the happiest moment of my life.”
