Note to self: don't steal from Albert Hammond Jr. The solo artist and Strokes guitarist shared a video yesterday (Dec. 11) of he and his crew reviewing the security footage of an altercation in which a pickpocket attempted to steal his wife's wallet and green card.

Spoiler alert, it does not go well for the pickpocket, as Hammond Jr. jumps into action to defend his wife, Justyna.

The gaggle of people gathered around the security screen give a play-by-play recap of the altercation, describing how two or three men attempted to trick the couple as one guy made a NBA-style block, while the pickpocket reached in to take the goods. But, it didn't fool the Strokes guitarist, who almost immediately realized what was going on and was able to pin the man along with some fellow crew members and start wailing on him.

"Oh wow, I did get angry, didn't I?" Hammond Jr. said of the footage.

"I mean, that's your wife of course (you got angry)," a female responded.

While they were able to apprehend the one pickpocket, it sounds like the other one or two culprits managed to run away. Thankfully, everyone is safe and nothing was stolen. Watch the footage below and learn a valuable lesson - don't mess with Albert Hammond Jr.

In 2015, Hammond Jr. released his latest solo effort, Momentary Masters, to solid critical praise as the album follows some of the grittier lines of the Stroke's signature style.

Speaking of The Strokes, Stereogum notes the band is performing at Mexico's Live Out Monterrey fest later today (Dec. 12) and they made a stop at Monterrey's Victoria Records studio to record some drum tracks. This means that The Strokes are officially back in the studio. Maybe fans will get some new music by 2016, but so far no official announcement has been made.
