Carter V Season has begun, and that's exactly the message Lil Wayne and his camp wanted to send with the recent artwork release.

Many were misconstrued and believed the artwork was Wayne's album cover. Wayne's manager, Cortez Bryant, took to Twitter to clarify.

"The Image that was posted yesterday is NOT the #carterV album cover! It's just to let the @LilTunechi fans know that CarterV Season is here!" Bryant tweeted.

Guess it's safe to say Kobe did a good job. He definitely got the people talking.

Another thing that's got people talking are recent reports of Lil Wayne and Mannie Fresh reuniting in the studio.

As previously reported, producer/songwriter Charles Pettaway sent out a tweet revealing that the rapper-producer duo may be in the studio together working on something new.

Rumor had it that Drake and Lil Wayne would be working on a Big Tymers album with the help of Birdman. It's possible the two could be working on that if not a Carter V collab.

But if in fact a Big Tymers project is in the works, Mannie's production will be key. He has not worked with Cash Money in years, despite once being the label's sole in-house producer.

Bryant also went on to alert fans that the release date of the album is still undecided.

Back in February, Drake announced during a performance that the album would be released on May 5.

Stay tuned for more updates on the status of Lil Wayne's highly anticipated album Tha Carter V.
