Last month, Justin Bieber appeared as a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to talk about Selena Gomez, perform some songs and surprise some fans, aka Beliebers. He stirred up some controversy though by wearing a Metallica t-shirt, resulting in some angry reactions from fans of the metal band. So how do you think the band would react to the pop singer sporting their merchandise? Well, according to frontman James Hetfield, it was one of the highlights of his 2015!

While Metallica fans were not happy about the "Sorry" singer wearing the band's shirt (via UPROXX), the gravel-voiced frontman is apparently pretty excited about it.

In a new list he shared with fans via the Metallica blog entitled "Top 10 Thingz of 2015," Bieber wearing his band's shirt ranks right up there with "watching my children grow" and "Meeting Robert Plant. (via NME)"

You can check out this list over at Metallica Injection, which puts this situation into the perspective of die-hard Metallica fans.

So James is cool with the Biebs, it seems! Check out Justin Bieber talking with Ellen about his nude paparazzi photos while wearing a Metallica t-shirt right here:

Bieber is apparently a fan of another seminal rock band aside from Metallica. He was recently photographed on the 2015 American Music Awards red carpet sporting a Nirvana shirt. Just like Hetfield's response, Courtney Love, the wife of late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, approved of the fashion statement.
