Ciara has been a name in the industry since 2004, when she shot to the top of the music charts with her irresistible single "Goodies." She then went on to have other smash hits such as "1, 2 Step," and "I Bet," cementing her name in music. This past May, the singer gave birth to her first child, Future Zahir Wilburn, and began learning to juggle both the challenge of a high-powered career and her most important job, being a mom. After presenting the innovator award to Missy Elliot at the Billboard Women in Music 2015 event she talked being a mom in a new backstage interview.
"My journey has been a very fun one because I've chosen to make the best of every challenge that I've had along the way no matter what," she said to Billboard backstage at the event.
"Juggling being a mom and an entertainer is a challenge I face every day," she further said. "The great thing is that I love both jobs. Being a mom to my son has taken precedence over everything in my life and I think that's the order it should be... It's a great challenge that I don't think's ever gonna stop."
The singer also spoke on the difficulties she had as an independent artist, saying, "When I first started, I started out in a group and that didn't quite work out. Then we tried to audition for a label and we didn't make it together, but then I was fortunate enough to pursue my solo career. But even that process, I still had to keep on trying to find my voice."
Not to mention that the singer, who is known for being a red carpet stunner, recently showed off her post baby body while she was vacationing in Mexico with her boyfriend Russell Wilson. The Seattle Seahawks player and Ciara also brought along family and friends for their week-long vacation in paradise.
