The former No. 1 DJ in the world, Hardwell, just released Part One of his year end, Hardwell On Air, mix-series. With an hour of music, including 24 tracks and some ID's, this is one mix you don't want to overlook.
According to DJ Mag's Top 100 DJ's of 2015, Hardwell fell from his reign as the top DJ in the world to the No. 2 spot, with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike taking over the throne. As discussed in yesterday's article about Billboard releasing their Top 50 Dance/Electronic Artists of 2015, Hardwell didn't even make their list - most likely due to the fact that Billboard's rankings were based on three factors; radio airplay, sales data and streaming data.
Seeing as though Hardwell released his debut Album, United We Are, earlier this year, which certainly added to Billboard's "sales data" factor, radio play and streaming data weren't as prevalent for the Dutch-DJ.
With 2015 nearly coming to an end, Hardwell made a strong push in these last few months, with several big announcements, to keep his name and reputation as high as possible.
After taking his I AM Hardwell Tour across the globe, it was announced yesterday that Hardwell would be bringing the tour to North America in 2016, for 11 stops, starting with New Orleans on Feb. 25th and ending in Ottawa, ON on March 6th. Aside from his North American tour, Hardwell enlisted several big names artists to remix his debut album with the likes of Armin van Buuren, Vicetone, W&W, Bingo Players and more on the remixes.
Hardwell was just also in the news for his headling spot in Phase One of Ultra Music Festival 2016's lineup announcement.
With so much big news surrounding the world's former No. 1 DJ, releasing his Hardwell On Air Year End Mix today, only seemed to be fitting with all things considered. In the mix, you'll find several special "Hardwell Mashups," that have yet to be heard, including an ID mix with Alice Deejay vs. Galantis vs Hardwell & Afrojack, titled, "Better Off Alone vs. Runaway (U&I) vs ID."
Hardwell noted that this is only "Part One" of his year-end mix, so expect to see "Part Two" drop next Friday when his usual Hardwell On Air mixes are scheduled to play.
