Down on the West Coast, they've got a saying: if Lana Del Rey is releasing a new music video, expect a lot of slow motion shots, plenty of eyeliner, some black and white and inexplicable special effects.

OK, so maybe that's not actually a saying in the glamorous world of Lana Del Rey's Hollywood, but that is the premise of the songstress' newest music video for "West Coast," which officially debuted today (May 7) after accidentally popping up on VEVO sites for a short period of time on Tuesday.

The storyline for "West Coast" is loose at best, and the clip mostly features a brunette haired Del Rey swinging along to the beat of her own Dan Auerbach-produced anthem on the beach, with a pompadour'd man in tow. This portion of the music video is an extension of the teaser for the clip and the visuals that accompanied the song's official audio upon its release to YouTube last month.

"West Coast" also features Del Rey, looking as forlorn as ever, lounging in a convertible with a slightly older gentleman.

In the end, though, she sets fire to the rain as some pretty cheap special effects flames surround Del Rey and the music video turns to color, a la The Wizard Of Oz. Engulfed by the gulf and fire, Del Rey sizzles in a red dress, ever wavering to the beat.

This track is Del Rey's lead single from her upcoming second studio album Ultraviolence. The record has yet to receive an official release date, though it's due out sometime in 2014.
