After a year of rumors that LCD Soundsystem is reuniting, which reached it's height when they released new song "Christmas Will Break Your Heart," a week ago, it's officially been confirmed that the group will headline Coachella in 2016.

According to the New York Times, LCD Soundsystem will be majorly featured along with similarly reunited group Guns N' Roses. The festival will run during two weekends, April 15-17 and April 22-24.

In the past, LCD Soundsystem has always squashed rumors of a reunion and the band has not been heard from since their Madison Square Garden show in 2011, which served as a farewell performance for the group. This past summer, frontman James Murphy started a new "subway symphony" project as well as covering "Golden Years" by David Bowie for the film While We're Young by Noah Baumbach.

It has been reported that a reunion tour will follow their appearance at Coachella in 2016, but this has yet to be confirmed in an official statement although they will headline the festival.

According to Rolling Stone, the rumors began in the fall  about a potential reunion and were discounted by DFA Records label manager Kris Peterson on Twitter.

The first sign that there might be something behind the rumors was when "Christmas Will Break Your Heart," was released last week, along with a statement released by Murphy on the LCD Soundsystem Twitter account on Christmas Eve.
