City manager Manuel Pellegrini opened up to the media about the importance of this Cup ahead of the game.
"I think that for the team, the club, for everyone, it is always important to win a title," he said, according to BBC Sport. "It is very beautiful when you finish at Wembley, full of people, so it is very important for us to win. Maybe it's impossible to win all of the competitions but your attitude and desire and having a winning mentality indicates you must believe you can."
Meanwhile, Everton coach Roberto Martinez spoke to his team's website about playing at home today.
It has been a really interesting Capital One Cup campaign," the manager said. "We have enjoyed the support of our fans at places likes Barnsley, Reading and Middlesbrough, where they were phenomenal. Then we had to be strong and resolute against Norwich at Goodison. So we have enjoyed the journey but now it is about getting to the final. When you look at the teams that have made it to this stage, we are facing the top seed but all we want is to be as good as we can in front of our fans."
