If you love techno so much you wish you could eat it, now you're in luck: thanks to one fan, now you can bid on Ben Klock's "original banana" on eBay. The potassium-rich piece of house and techno memorabilia was handed to the seller during the German producer and DJ's 12-hour-long closing New Year's set at Berghain and Panorama Bar in Berlin.

The techno banana is listed by eBay user oke3000 as "new, unused and undamaged product in the unopened packaging," Thump reports. By packaging, the seller probably means the peel. The auction is live now and is listed for the next week. Good thing the tropical fruit gets even sweeter as it ripens.

If you've ever yearned for just one more song before one of the best sets you've ever witnessed ends and was given a piece of fresh fruit by the DJ in lieu of an encore, then you probably understand why everyone's going bananas over this piece of fruit. In the auction description, oke3000 explains that Ben Klock was holding onto the fruit to consume after his set, "But he didn't!!" Instead, the DJ handed the fan the prized piece of fruit "as a sign of his conscience after remaining Ravers begged him to play another last record."

eBay user oke3000's story, translated from German, continues: "I kissed his hand, he kissed mine and the fruit was the physical bond of ours, of this moment. He explained he had some before and they were delicious; I believe him, it still looks yummy!"

Yummy or not, one does not simply eat techno banana. Something that special deserves to be baked into somebody's grandmother's special bread recipe, or used in an epic ice cream sundae or mixed up with some top-shelf liquor and served on ice.

That's why eBay user oke3000 decided to sell it. As he explains in the auction, he is leaving town soon and "can't take care of this precious diamond" and "hopes it finds a good home." He adds that it "can be used/appreciated in several ways."

The strange piece of techno memorabilia even has it's own Twitter account, Magnetic Magazine reports. Follow to keep updated on all things related, and listen to Ben Klock's BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, below, to best understand the hype.
