Arsene Wenger opened up about the challenge of facing the dangerous Stoke side.
"We have had difficulties at Stoke, they have a good record against us in recent years and I must say as well they have overall a good record against Man United, City, the big teams," he said, according to the team's website. "They have done very well... "I would say Stoke are sharper because when we played them they were in a bit of a difficult patch and had some bad injuries. Since then, they have developed well and have moved forward well in the league, with some convincing results."
Meanwhile, Stoke manager Mark Hughes spoke highly of Arsenal ahead of the match.
"Arsenal are top on merit, and of all of the top teams in the league this season they are the ones who are actually playing like a top, top team," Stoke's website quotes the coach. "To be perfectly honest the rest have slipped away a little bit and have been uncharacteristic in terms of what you would expect from them. Arsenal have done really well though, gone about their business superbly and are playing some fantastic stuff at the moment."
