After this past week of Barclays Premier League games, Manchester United have found themselves outside of the top four on the standings this season, once again. A loss to Southampton FC definitely didn't help the rumors surrounding manager Louis Van Gaal getting sacked sometime soon, but his post-match press conference now has us thinking he'll quit his position before getting booted! Plus, new speculation suggests 42-year-old assistant coach and legendary United player Ryan Giggs might replace Van Gaal as interim coach until the summer of 2016.

"I'm very disappointed that I cannot reach the expectations of the fans," the Dutchman told the press, according to Sun Sport. "They have - or they had - great expectations of me and I cannot fulfill them. So I am very frustrated because of that."

In the past, Van Gaal was more adamant about turning things around at the club and not worrying about his future, but this new statement is clearly a change in stance for the coach. It certainly sounds like he wants to fix this problem on his own terms, and plenty of news outlets, including The Daily Star, think he could resign this week.

Other names rumored to take over Van Gaal's position include Carlo Ancelotti and Jose Mourinho, who was last year sacked by Chelsea FC for the worst season performance in years.

Another idea is to give Ryan Giggs the job for the remainder of the season, despite his lack of experience as a manager. If this happens, it would be reminiscent of Real Madrid's recent hiring of club legend Zinedine Zidane as Rafa Benitez's replacement.

The rumors surrounding Giggs are pretty new, according to The Sun, but it isn't unheard of to consider him for the role.
