The POTUS has called on Fayetteville's hometown hero to supply the tunes for a special political reception. President Barack Obama personally requested J. Cole to perform at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) fundraiser next month at the SXSW entertainment festival in Texas.

News about the "Apparently" rapper's forthcoming appearance in Austin was revealed by Cole's longtime friend, manager, and Dreamville President, Ibraham 'Ib' Hamad. Hamad shared a promotional advertisement of the event on his personal Instagram account on Wednesday (Feb. 24) with the caption, "When the President asks..."

Obama has publicly embraced his love for hip-hop music in the past, with a lot of praise pushed toward Kendrick Lamar. He even declared the Compton rapper's "How Much a Dollar Cost?" as his favorite song of 2015 and went as far as to say, Lamar is a better rapper than Drake.

J. Cole's Dreamville Records will also be taking over the SXSW music festival, with a string of his artists hitting the stage. Fans can expect performances from Bas, Omen, Cozz, and of course "Mr. Cole World" himself on Saturday (March 21) at ACL Live at the Moody Theater.

The 31-year-old North Carolina native has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards including Best New Artist, Best Rap Album, and Best Rap Performance. All three of his studio albums were certified platinum, which includes Cole World: The Sideline Story, Born Sinner, and 2014 Forest Hill Drive.

The event will be hosted by Honest Dollar CEO whurley and Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am on Friday (March 11) at the Austin Music Hall in Texas.
