Kanye West may believe in the artistic integrity of his own music, claiming that his new album The Life of Pablo will only appear on TIDAL, but that doesn't necessarily means he always pays for his own music and creative software. On Tuesday night (March 1), the "Famous" rapper posted a screenshot of his laptop as he worked on his upcoming album Turbo Grafx 16, but he accidentally left up a few browser tabs showing that he was torrenting software and a Sufjan Stevens track.

West posted a screenshot of the Sufjan Stevens track "Death with Dignity" from Carrie & Lowell on the third day of work on Turbo Grafx 16. It all seemed normal enough, but as TorrentFreak points out, West should have double-checked his other open tabs before sharing the tweet.

A quick zoom on the photo reveals that he had a torrent link open for synthesizer software Serum, which retails for about $200. West also had a MediaDownloader tab open, a website that allows you to rip audio from a YouTube video as an .mp3.

So, it seems as though West ripped "Death with Dignity" from YouTube and used Serum to create a new beat for a Turbo Grafx 16 track, all without paying a dime.

But, in West's own words, he is $53 million in debt after creating his Yeezy clothing lines and recording The Life of Pablo, so every dollar counts in the creative process. West's major gaffe did not go by unnoticed. Deadmau5 chimed in, calling West out for his pirating ways.
