Deftones recently performed a new track titled "Doomed User" at the California's Musink festival, which was filmed by a fan featuring Chino Moreno's powerful vocal range, Blabbermouth reported.

The song is part of its forthcoming album, Gore, which is the follow-up to the Koi No Yokan LP from 2012 and it is the band's first studio album in four years. It will be the eighth LP by the band and it will have 11 tracks with a release date of April 8 via Warner Bros. Records. The project was co-produced by Deftones and Matt Hyde.

"I feel like we've gone into the songs and really dissected them," frontman Moreno said, according to Rolling Stone. "If something sounded a little straight, we took a left turn and made things a little screwy. We just tried something completely opposite, not to sabotage it, but to challenge ourselves and try new things that we haven't done in the past. It definitely feels like we've taken a step from our last record. But it's definitely a Deftones record, and it has all the elements that make us who we are. We're not going out there to change anything, other than just thinking outside the box."

Meanwhile, guitarist Stephen Carpenter revealed that he considers the upcoming album an achievement since he wasn't into the new music and wasn't interested with the LP.

“When we were coming up with the ideas and writing the songs, the stuff that was being written, you know, the other guys’ ideas, I wasn’t too interested in it. It wasn’t the style or the sound I was hoping we would take. My band is going one direction and I am going another one currently,” Carpenter said, according to Ultimate-Guitar.com.

He said that the songs were challenging for him but added that he will never leave the band because he started it even if it seems that the band is leaving him.

Aside from the performance seen in the video, the rock band will also play at London's SSE Wembley Arena slated on June 3.
