Incubus and the Deftones will join forces for a summer tour that kicks off July 22 in Clarkston, Michigan, and wraps Aug. 30 in San Diego. Death from Above 1979 will tag along for all but one of the dates in addition to support band The Bots. Major stops include the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, Aaron's Amphitheatre at Lakewood in Atlanta and Red Rocks in Morrison.
As Consequence of Sound points out, each band will be promoting a new release in some way. Deftones frontman Chino Moreno said the band's follow-up to 2012's Koi No Yokan will be out this fall.
"I think it's a little more of a heady record," Moreno said. "I feel like we've gone into the songs and really dissected them. If something sounded a little straight, we took a left turn and made things a little screwy. We just tried something completely opposite, not to sabotage it, but to challenge ourselves and try new things that we haven't done in the past."
Incubus will release the EP Trust Fall (Side A) May 12 with a second one to follow. It will be the band's first release since 2011's If Not Now, When?
Death from Above 1979 will continue its victory lap behind September's The Physical World. The album hit No. 28 on the Billboard 200 behind "Government Trash" and "Trainwreck 1979."
