They're back! On Monday (Apr. 4),VH1 premiered the highly anticipated fifth season of the popular reality series, Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. Episode one was nothing short of surprises and ratchetness at its best. This recap highlights all the major events that went down last night, including Mimi Faust introducing her girlfriend to the world and get a taste of some of the new cast members joining the show.

The season kicks off with the majority of the cast members attending an event to honor the life of Atlanta-based rapper, Dolla, who was shot and killed at the Beverly Center mall in Los Angeles in 2009. Karlie Redd is one of the last ladies to enter the building. She meets up with Tammy Rivera and Rasheeda to fill them in on what's been going on with her life. Rasheeda and Karlie have squashed their beef from last season and seemed genuinely excited about the success of their individual clothing stores. Tammy admits she's been feeling a little lonely at home, because her man Waka Flocka is always on the road. Despite buying a secret condo to live in last season, Rasheeda revealed her relationship with husband, Kirk Frost, is doing extremely well. Karlie spills the beans about Mimi having a new boo, but no one has met the mystery love in her life.

As more people start showing up to the event, viewers are soon introduced to a few of the new cast members. Karen "KK" King is the mother of fellow new cast member Scrapp Deleon, both of whom are related to Dolla. Scrapp is also Stevie J's nephew. As soon as the King family enters the building, heads turn. Yung Joc greets them as they walk in and reveals the King family is a bit notorious in Atlanta for getting into some illegal activity. After paying tribute to Dolla through various video messages of artists, Dolla's family is asked to come to the stage. Scrapp thanks everyone for coming and assures them Dolla's name will live on through them. As things begin to settle down at the party, KK pulls Scrapp's girlfriend Tommie to the side to warn her about his ex trying to get back into his life. They decide to discuss the details at a later time.

Lil Scrappy meets with his mom, Momma Dee, to discuss some legal issues she's been dealing with. Momma Dee said she was out celebrating her birthday with friends, but when she came back from the bathroom she noticed her friends dashed, leaving her with a $500 bill. Refusing to pay the whole bill, she was then arrested. Momma Dee then reveals she never went on a honeymoon after remarrying her ex-husband, Ernest Bryant. She also admits Ernest doesn't like paying bills. Scrappy tells his mom about his non-existent love life. His relationship with Bambi is over and is finally on good terms with his baby momma, Erica Dixon. Scrappy is ready to enjoy the single life. He proceeds to tell her about Kirk and Rasheeda not showing up to support him in court. The news rubs Momma Dee the wrong way, so she plans on paying Rasheeda a little visit.

The cameras finally find their way to Mimi. Mimi's on a date at the go-kart race track. Gushing over how happy she is and how she's never felt like this before, it's revealed that Mimi is dating a studly lesbian named Chris Gould. Mimi says she's dealt with women in the past, but this is the first time she's ever been in an actual relationship with a woman. They've been messing with each other for about a year. Mimi tells Chris she's planning on throwing her a birthday party, which will also allow her to introduce her new girlfriend to her family and friends.

Scrappy and Joc are living in a bachelor pad together, soaking up the perks of being single. They throw a small get together filled with young beautiful women. Scrappy tells Joc that he's never been single and believes it will be a positive change for him. He then tells him about the modeling agency he started to help women get jobs in the business, whether it be for runways or music videos. Joc can't keep his eyes off of Scrappy's personal assistant. Scrappy claims his relationship with her is strictly professional, giving Joc the impression that he might be able to get freaky with her.

KK and Tommie get together to talk about Scrapp's baby momma, Tiarra. KK does not trust or like Tiarra. KK isn't Tiarra's biggest fan, because she allegedly killed her dog. KK believes her son Scrapp is doing more than co-parenting with her (i.e. they're having sex). Tommie has never met Tiarra, but she's eager to put a face to the name and find out if her boyfriend has been cheating on her. Tommie wastes no time trying to find the tea. She invites Karlie to meet up with her at Tiarra's job, Karlie of course accepts the invitation and brings Jessica Dime along with her. Tiarra ends up being their waitress at the club. Tommie tells them she's really there to spy on Tiarra, which only excites Karlie more. Tiarra admits to sleeping with Scrapp from time to time. After finding out Tiarra also knows Stevie J and Joseline Hernandez, Karlie decides to kick things up a notch by inviting Tiarra to Mimi's party. Tommie plans on ambushing her at the party. Jessica doesn't feel good about setting Tiarra up.

Momma Dee decides to go against her son's wishes when she shows up at Rasheeda's store. She immediately asks Rasheeda why she wasn't present for Scrappy's court hearing. Rasheeda tells her she was busy filming for FOX's new drama series Rosewood, starring Morris Chestnut, in Los Angeles. Momma Dee doesn't care about her excuses, believing Rasheeda should have let Scrappy know ahead of time that she wouldn't be able to make it. Rasheeda doesn't believe she's in the wrong, because it was a last minute type of thing. Rasheeda's mom jumps into the conversation to defend her, which only causes Momma Dee to go off. In a strange turn of events, Momma Dee pulls out a bag of twigs to build a bird nest with in the middle of the store's floor. She then warns Rasheeda's mom to think twice before pushing out another rotten egg.

Scrapp is at Tiarra's place taking care of the kids while she's at work. Tiarra has four children, with the youngest one being Scrapp's son King. When Tiarra gets home from work, they decide to talk about the current status of their relationship. Tiarra feels like Scrapp's mom doesn't like her, which might have caused a bit of distance between them. She opens up about her true feelings and not being happy with where they are now. Scrapp is content with having his cake and eating it too, so he's not willing to change the situation. Tiarra then tells him his name was brought up at her job last night during a conversation she was having with the three women she met. She name-dropped Karlie, Jessica and of course, Tommie. Once hearing his girlfriend's name, Scrapp got a little scared. Scrapp decides to cut the conversation short and leave to figure out what really went down with Tommie.

Scrapp ends up at Tommie's house looking for answers. He lets Tommie know that he knows all about her showing up to Tiarra's job. Tommie asks Scrapp if he's still having sex with Tiarra, but he denies it. Scrapp gives Tommie the impression that they are strictly co-parenting, but Tommie isn't really buying it. Tommie threatens him, stating if he doesn't let Tiarra know that there's a new woman in his life, then she'll be forced to tell Tiarra herself. Scrapp says he'll tell her on his own time.

It's finally time for Mimi's big reveal at her girlfriend's surprise birthday party. She decides to throw a huge all-white party at the club and a lot of the female cast members came out to support. Everyone is shocked to find out that her mystery boo Chris is a female. Mimi continued to share just how happy she is with her partner and how different the experience has been compared to her past relationships. The ladies seem to be supportive of her new love interest.
