The 2016 Met Gala is one of the most highly-anticipated events in the fashion industry this year and tonight (Monday, May 2) designers will get to showcase some of their best work as an array of celebrities strut their stuff on the red carpet. If you're a part of the unlucky bunch not attending the style extravaganza, don't worry too much. You can live stream it here to find out what Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and more will be wearing.

Chairwoman and American Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, honorary chair Taylor Swift, actor Idris Elba, and Apple's Chief Design Officer Jonathan Ive will act as this year's gala hosts. The Met Gala is held annually on the first Monday of May to help raise money for the Costume Institute for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The gala is invite only. While celebrities attend the event for free, guests reportedly had to pay $30,000 for a ticket.

The Theme

The 2016 Met Gala theme is Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology. It glorifies haute couture in the 19th century and the arrival of the sewing machine, thus sparking a mass production debate surrounding the designers hands (manus) and their machine (machina). It also plays into questions involving the importance of each tool during the creative process.

Does this mean viewers we'll get to see a variety of abstract looks with different metals?

Where to Watch

E! will air their Live From the Red Carpet special event from 7:30-9 p.m. EST. Giuiliana Rancic and Zanna Roberts Rassi will be accompanied by Olivia Culpo and celebrity stylist Johnny Wujek.
