Kenny Chesney and Jake Owen + Broadway = Good Times

Somewhere With You, a Broadway musical, will hit New York's The Pershing Square Signature Center at the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre on July 7 and run through July 13. The project will mark the first time in Broadway history that the New York Musical Theatre Festival will be bringing country music to the Broadway stage. Director Peter Zinn and songwriter JT Harding have created the modern country songbook type project.

The musical will feature songs written by Harding as well as hits from Jake Owen, Kenny Chesney and Uncle Kracker including "Alone With You," "Somewhere With You" and "Smile" as it tells a southern love story between an aspring young country singer and a recovering meth addict. Bringing an added twist, Somewhere With You also brings to the table one of the first Broadway projects that chonicles the experiences of a U.S. soldier who served in Iraq in the early 2000s.
