Ryan Adams returns with his first release in three years, a self-titled, self-produced solo effort. Due out September 9 via Pax Am/Blue Note, the 11-track album is Adam's marks Adams 14th solo release. He's giving fans an advance taste of the record with the lead single, "Gimme Something Good."

His first song in two years, the track sees Adams returning to his gritty, guitar-driven alt-country roots with an arena rock sound drenched in reverb and gain that somehow still feels intimate. It sounds like a mix between Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Adam's former band Whiskeytown -- a departure from 2011's Ashes & Fire.

According to Broadway World, the single, which also features non-LP B-side "Aching For More," has already hit No. 1 at the Amazon.com music store, marking the first time a physical single has ever been the store's top-seller. Digital pre-orders of Ryan Adams at iTunes and Amazon will immediately receive an free download of "Gimme Something Good."
