The xx have released the music video for their I See You lead single "On Hold." The video places band members Jamie xx, Oliver Sim and Romy Madley Croft back in a high school love story between a cheerleader and high school player in Marfa, Texas.

The group explore small town America as they spend time as parties, ride around in shopping carts and play back up roles to the main characters trying to navigate young love. Jamie xx DJs a small house party for everyone featured in the video.

The video was shot in Marfa, Texas, one of the cities where they recorded some of the album. They note that in a comment under the music video.

"Today we get to share our new video for 'On Hold' with you! The video is directed by the brilliant Alasdair McLellan, whose work we all adore... It was filmed in Marfa, Texas, a very special place to us, where we wrote and recorded some of our new album," says The xx. "We have a lot of love and respect for the people of the USA, having played hundreds of shows across the country over the past years. We hope this video reflects just some of the warmth and acceptance we have encountered there."

The xx are in full album mode right now, prepping for the release of I See You. They performed "On Hold" and a new single on Saturday Night Live on Nov. 19. Their awkward dancing was maybe just as good as the performance itself. The group also announced a host of European and UK tour dates at the start of 2017, in addition to some South American festival gigs in March. They have a few world tour dates to finish out the year.
