Stan Lee is jubilant over recent news that Walt Disney Studios plans to acquire the TV and movie assets from 21st Century Fox. The comic book legend believes that it is going to produce great results for all the Marvel characters to be under one studio.

"A truly great piece of news!" the comic book creator said when asked about his reaction to Disney's plans to purchase rights to the Marvel characters under Fox. Lee expressed his excitement, especially since Fantastic Four and X-Men will finally be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"Now characters such as the X-Men and the Fantastic Four can come home to the place where they belong. It's vitally important to have the Marvel characters under one roof. And now, as great as they were before, I can't wait to see the wonders that will unfold!" Lee said in an interview with Newsarama.

Walt Disney Studios and 21st Century Fox have yet to reach a final agreement on the acquisition. However, if the deal pushes through, then it means Disney will have access not just to Marvel characters, but to some of Fox's iconic and famous movies and TV shows. These include The Simpsons, X-Men, Alien, Planet of the Apes, Avatar, and Kingsmen, to name a few. The acquisition will also give Disney rights to Fox 2000 and Fox Searchlight for a total cost of approximately $52.4 billion in stock.

Disney's decision to purchase Fox's TV and movie assets come after Lee talked about the acquisition in September 2017 at the Wizard World Nashville. He asked fans to be patient since Disney is looking for ways to make the acquisition happen. At that time, Lee, who co-created Fantastic Four and Spider-Man with Steve Ditko, told the audience that Disney is actively working on a deal with 21st Century Fox to regain rights to the Marvel characters under Fox.

If the acquisition pulls through, then there is a possibility that fans might also see Lee's life play out on screen. In 2016, the comic book legend sold his life rights to Fox for a planned movie that was set in the 1970s. The film was to be in the makings of a James Bond film. If a settlement is agreed between the two parties, then Walt Disney Studios will have ownership of the movie.
