It's been almost a year in the making, but One Direction member Zayn Malik has finally made his Instagram public... and his very first widely-shared photo is already making Directioners and gossip websites explode.
On Tuesday (July 15), Malik switched his little privacy switch from private to public, much to the delight of his already 500,000+ followers and 1D fans everywhere, but after his very first selfie, something sparked all the rumor mills: a certain ring on a very certain finger.
Yes, Malik is donning a band of gold on his left ring finger, and rumors instantly flew that he and fiancée Perrie Edwards of Little Mix had actually tied the knot!

Though the simple white band makes it seem as though Malik and Edwards have already gotten married, the singer's spokesperson denied those rumors. "Perrie and Zayn are not married. The picture shows his engagement ring," said a statement given to The Daily Mail.
How modern of Malik!
The latest round of Malik and Edwards wedding bells have been hushed, but that doesn't mean the duo won't tie the knot soon! The pair have been dating since 2011 and engaged since Aug. 13, and though Malik has remained mum about his pending nuptials, Edwards is ready to be Mrs. One Direction.
"We're young, but I think when you know, you know. We've been together for a while now, so it is nice," she has said in past interviews.
For at least the next two weeks, Malik has plenty of time to post new selfies to his public Instagram account. He and his band One Direction are currently on a short break between legs of the Where We Are Tour. 1D's next show will take place on Aug. 1 in Toronto.
