Malia Obama was recently spotted with her British boyfriend, Rory Farquharson, in New York City. The daughter of former President Barack Obama met Farquharson at Harvard.
During their stroll, Malia and Farquharson were photographed canoodling with each other. The couple also looked at Malia's iPhone while they were walking. Farquharson also appeared to be whispering in Malia's ear at one point.
Malia kept herself warm during her stroll with her boyfriend by wearing an oversized black jacket and stockings. She later on showed off her colorful dress underneath her jacket. Farquharson, on the other hand, wore an electric blue jacket, gray shirt, and black pants. He also had his sunglasses on.
The couple was also photographed sitting outdoors. Malia was all smiles while listening to her boyfriend's stories. Farquharson was seen with a cigarette in his hand. Malia and Farquharson were first rumored to be dating in November after they were seen kissing at a college football game.
Malia's Dad Comments On Her Dating Life
Former president Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama, have not yet publicly commented on their daughter's relationship with a fellow Harvard student. Before studying in Harvard, Farquharson served as a former head boy at the Rugby School, one of the top public schools in the United Kingdom.
After Malia and Farquharson were seen kissing each other last year, Mr. Obama talked about his daughters' dating lives and said that he is not worried that they will make wrong decisions. The former president gave two reasons why he has no problem with his daughters hanging out with boys with their age.
"The truth is, I'm pretty relaxed about it for two reasons. One is [my wife] Michelle, — she's such a great example of how she carries herself, her self-esteem, not depending on boys to validate how you look or not letting yourself be judged by anything other than your character and intelligence. Hopefully, I've been a good example in terms of how I show respect to my wife," said the former president.
Mr. Obama's second reason has to do with the fact that his kids have Secret Service. He joked that there are CCTVs in their house so guests are on surveillance at all times. The dad of two added that his daughters' guests are aware of this so they should be careful.
