Avril Lavigne is coming out with a new album titled, oddly enough, Avril Lavigne. The lady half of Chavril dropped the album cover on us earlier today. It features a washed out Lavigne with black eye makeup and on a black background.

Avril looks absolutely terrified in this shot, with the sort of thousand yard stare that only going home to Chad Kroeger every day can give you.

"The record's really diverse," Lavigne told Billboard earlier this year. "We've got these pop-rock tunes, and then these piano ballads with orchestras. I have a heavier song that Marilyn Manson's on called 'Bad Girl,' and then I've got a song called 'Hello Kitty' that sounds like nothing I've done before. 'Here's To Never Growing Up' is one of the rock tunes on it, but it's all over the place."

Avril Lavigne hits shelves September 24 via Epic and will feature "Here's To Never Growing Up," "Rock N' Roll" and "17."

What do you think of the cover art for Avril Lavigne? Are you excited for the 5th album from the queen of mall punk?
