Lincoln Center in New York will be celebrating the life of folk legend Pete Seeger and you can stream it here when it begins at 4 PM Eastern Standard Time.

Seeger's grandson Kitama Cahill-Jackson brought together a solid lineup of songwriters and performers to celebrate the life of one of the most influential folk singers of all time. The day's activities will include performances from Steve Earle, Holly Near, Tom Chapin and the Chapin Sisters, and Amanda Palmer. Near was a member of the Freedom Singers, a group based on Seeger's iconic ensemble The Weavers.

The headlining event of today's performances will be a "global" singalong of the songwriter's classic track "If I Had A Hammer," which will be led by Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary at 6 PM. Make sure you sing along as to make the title come true. There will also be a number of speakers at the event, including vocalist Harry Belafonte, jazz producer George Wein, and Fred Hellerman, who was a member of The Weavers with Seeger.

The events at Lincoln Center make up the conclusion of Seeger Fest, a five-day event that paid homage not only to the performer, but also to his wife (and Cahill-Jackson's grandmother) Toshi Seeger. Most of the events were far smaller than Monday's going-on's, but were carried out on a smaller scale in Seeger's longtime home of the Hudson River valley, perhaps a little more in line with what the performer represented than the grand scale of today's events. A screening of Pete Seeger: The Power of Song was also held featuring a Q&A with producers and musicians in the film.
