Vanessa Carlton slams Chris Brown after the latter praised the former's music and took her thoughts to social media on International Women's Day.
On Thursday, Brown posted Carlton's song and said that the track is lit. However, Carlton did not appreciate Brown's move and said that she did not want to be associated with the singer.
"Today Chris Brown posted my video. I am now being repeatedly tagged to his account. Being that today is International Women's Day I feel compelled to draw a line. I support survivors not perpetrators of domestic violence. I do not want to be associated with an artist that has assaulted women on a day like today," wrote Carlton.
Brown responded to Carlton's shade and said that he decided to upload her song on his account because he likes it. Brown wrote that he will no longer put Carlton's music on his page, and he also said that he felt the singer was passing on so much hatred on that special day.
Chris Brown Talks About His Altercation With Rihanna
Last year, the 28-year-old singer opened up about the domestic violence incident he was involved in with his ex-girlfriend Rihanna. In the documentary Chris Brown: Welcome to My Life, the singer said that he felt like a monster after he physically hurt Rihanna.
Brown said that he and Rihanna initially planned on marrying each other, but this did not happen after he lied about his sexual encounter with another woman.
"She hated me after that. I tried everything, she didn't care. She just didn't trust me after that. From there, it just went downhill because there were too many verbal fights, physical fights as well. Mutual sides... We would fight each other. She would hit me, I would hit her and it never was OK," said Brown.
During one of their altercations, Rihanna threw the first punch at Brown, and he punched her right back with a closed fist. After seeing the bruise on Rihanna's face, Brown was left in total shock. However, their brawl did not end there because Rihanna grabbed Brown's nuts, and he bit her.
In 2009, Rihanna also talked about the incident and said that Brown threatened to kill her. In her mind, she could not help but wonder when it will all stop. The "Diamonds" singer also said that the more they were in love with each other, the more dangerous things got.
