Vanessa Carlton has a new album on the way and a new baby, all in due time. Yesterday (June 26), the "A Thousand Miles" singer announced she and husband John McCauley were expecting their first child together on her Twitter and Facebook, showing off her growing baby bump in the process.

But a new baby means her new record will have to be pushed back until next year.

Carlton made the happy announcement yesterday, declaring loudly and proudly that she was expecting and the reason for her delayed album.

"I can now reveal the reason as to why Liberman will not be released until next summer. See the picture below. No, those aren't a bunch of croissants. We're expecting a baby. It's healthy and moving around like a champ. I'm bummed to delay the album because it's so special to me and the perfect combination of England and Tennessee. When I put the record on it feels like medicine. I hope it does the same for you...in due time," she wrote on her Facebook page.

"Thanks for sticking with me. John, Victor [her dog] and I are over the moon."

Carlton accompanied the message with a picture of her growing belly:

Liberman, originally due out later this year, will now drop at an unknown date in 2015. It will be Carlton's fifth studio album and her first release since 2011's Rabbits on the Run.

Meanwhile, Carlton is living in wedded bliss with her husband McCauley, of the band Deer Tick. The couple tied the knot late last year in a ceremony officiated by none other than Stevie Nicks.
