Babymetal, the popular pop-metal group from Japan, has partnered with 5B Artist Management and Record to establish Babymetal Records.
New Era Of Babymetal
The new venture was officially announced on Tuesday, May 1, on their social media channels.
"BABYMETAL has built a new partnership with 5B Artist Management and Records, a leading global music, events, and marketing firm, who also manage well-known artists such as Slipknot and Megadeath," the band said on a post.
They also partnered with Cooking Vinyl, which worked with the likes of Marilyn Manson and The Prodigy, to launch the project worldwide. It remains to be seen whether the band will release their next album through Babymetal Records this year or will sign new talents under the next record label.
Year of Babymetal
Not much is known about the project except that the record label is only one of the new projects launched by the Japan-based metal group.
Last month, they also announced an upcoming graphic novel set in a fictional world where the members of the band unite to defeat the forces of darkness. The graphic novel is titled Apocrypha: The Legend of Babymetal and will be released in October. Preorders are now available.
The group also released a video last month inspired by the popular space opera Star Wars. The video, titled "METAL RESISTANCE EPISODE VII - THE REVELATION" that speaks about a new era that is about to begin.
"Babymetal transcends dimensions of time and space," the transcript reads. "As well as the body and mind, as it is a legend about the CHOSEN ONE with a metal spirit, who travels across the metal galaxies."
Fans speculate that the video is a tease for an upcoming, still-unannounced next album.
In addition, Babymetal is currently on a major world tour. Their next live appearance will take place in Uptown Theater in Kansas City on May 8 and then, they will head to venues in Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, and more.
