A fan of Slayer had to swim across Lake Ontario to return and finish the concert of the metal band in Toronto, Canada this week.

Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian was able to capture the moment when the die-hard music fan braved the icy cold waters just to attempt to get back into the final stop of the band's North American trek. Ian, whose band opened for Slayer in Toronto, said that the unnamed man got kicked out of the show for unknown reasons.

The concert took place on Tuesday, May 29, at the Budweiser Stage on an island surrounded by the waters of Lake Ontario.

Metal Fans Swims Lake Ontario To Watch Slayer Concert

The photos posted by Ian on Instagram showed the man paddling across the water. A life-preserver rescued him, and he received immediate medical attention while speaking to law enforcement.

Fan of the tour. He got kicked out and tried to swim back in. Swipe left! #commitment #allin #hypothermia

Slayer guitarist Gary Holt was impressed by the unnamed metal fans' persistence to go back to the venue and finish the concert. He personally commented on Ian's post, revealing that he tried to convince the bouncers to let the man in.

"I tried to have someone let him back in! A for effort!!" Holt said.

Loudwire noted that the waters of Lake Ontario could go to up to 40-50 degrees during this time of the year. The area is also one of the dirtiest spots in Toronto.

There is, indeed, nothing more metal than a man risking hypothermia and e. coli to watch Slayer in concert.

Slayer Announced Retirement

Slayer announced earlier this year that the metal icons are finally retiring after nearly 40 years of making music and touring. As a bittersweet farewell to fans, the group is embarking on a massive North American tour that kicked off in San Diego in May and will wrap up in Austin in June.

The band did not reveal the reason why they are calling it quits.

The final trek of the metal legends also feature performances from Lamb of God, Behemoth, and Testament.

"It's been fun. We're just riding it until the final end date. It's been a blast," said Holt who replaced late Jeff Hanneman. "The show is going to be sick. People are going to be blown away."

Slayer's next show will take place at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut on June 1, Friday, and the at the PNC Banks Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey on June 2, Saturday.
