The members of Soundgarden reunite for the first time ever since Chris Cornell's death. Their reunion took place in Denmark to honor the rock group MC5.

Kim Thayil, the guitarist of Soundgarden, and Matt Cameron, the band's drummer, played together under the supergroup MC50. They were joined by MC5 guitarist Wayne Kramer. The trio performed the songs "Kick Out the Jams," "Come Together," and more during their show.

The trio will also be embarking on a North American tour that will kick off on Sept. 5 in Fort Lauderdale. Their series of shows will wrap up on Oct. 27 in Detroit. The trio will also head to Europe for the second leg of their tour, but details regarding the dates and venues are still being kept under wraps.

Soundgarden's Albums, Songs

Soundgarden is an American rock band that was formed in Seattle, Washington in 1984 by Cornell, Thayil, and Hiro Yamamoto. Two years later, Cameron joined the group as a full-time drummer. In 1990, Ben Shepherd replaced Yamamoto as the band's bassist.

In 1997, Soundgarden announced that it will no longer be a group. However, the members decided to reunite in 2010. Cornell remained part of the band until his death in May of last year.

Chris Cornell's Death

Cornell passed away due to an apparent suicide that took place at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. Police officers found the singer on the floor of his hotel room with an exercise band around his neck. He was pronounced dead at the scene at the age of 52.

Just hours before his demise, Cornell, Thayil, and Shepherd performed for their fans at the Fox Theater in Detroit. In April 2017, he even appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he sang the theme song for The Promise.
