Musicians Katherine McPhee and David Foster are now making plans to do daily concerts on Instagram. They see the recent COvid-19 pandemic and Instagram as an opportunity to reach out to their fans worldwide while being at home due to the concert cancellations as one of the measures to prevent the virus from spreading.

The Planned Daily Concert

McPhee told ABC Radio that she jokingly described herself as doing a self-quarantine for three days. After that, she said in her social media account "Me & the hus @davidfoster had so much fun at the piano today going live. we wanna try and do it everyday at 5:30 PT cuz what else is there to do?"

She revealed it since her husband David Foster is 70 years old and most of the people who caught and died from the virus are in the same age as Foster's.

Others Joined In

Foster jokes on the video that he is bad at being a piano accompanist according to KHQ TV. They also planned to make their live feed look like Kelly Clarkson's show but without the budget.

Aside from the couple, other music stars are now doing live feeds on their Instagram or Facebook accounts for their fans to see.

RnB singer and The Voice coach John Legend joined the live concert on his own home via Facebook and Instagram after Coldplay vocalist Chris Martin did a vlog-like concert also on his own home according to The Daily Mail.

Legend made his live session alongside his wife Chrissy Teigen. Martin on the other hand sang some of the famous songs made by his band while also doing a session. He did this also after he announced that he will also do his own "home concert" via Facebook and Instagram.

Country singer Brett Kissel also announced on his IG account that he will do the same as the others. "Grab a drink, tell your friends, and I'll see you on Instagram Live." he said in his account.

Australian singer Keith Urban was the first to do an Instagram Live concert. He did that in his own warehouse in Australia along with his wife Nicole Kidman. The concert took about 30 minutes and others follow suit.

Concert Disruption

Since governments are now banning live concerts as part of a precautionary measure on the coronavirus spread, Instagram became artists' tool in reaching their fans worldwide. It is also their plan to avoid catching the virus from fans.

Some bands in the United States already banned concerts and world tours like what Kiss, Ciara, Pearl Jam, among others. Some even postpone large music festivals like SXSW and Coachella just to avoid the virus from spreading.

The Best That Can do

As the virus continues to spread and according to the update, there are now 3,536 cases and 58 deaths tallied in the United States. Entertainers, like singers, doing showcasing their talents on social media for their fans has become a thing to do to prevent the virus from spreading.
