Actor, singer and songwriter Kenny Rogers dies peacefully from natural causes at his home. He is 81 years old. His death was announced by his family on Twitter.

"In a career that spanned more than six decades, Kenny Rogers left an indelible mark on the history of American music," according to his publicist. He died Friday at 10:25 pm.

Rogers is a popular for his many songs, including the legendary hit single Through the Years. He is also a popular composer, and his genres were from country to jazz to ballad.

His most popular album was titled "The Gambler", which earned him a Grammy.

Rogers' family is now planning for a private funeral so that they will avoid a huge crowd since his death coincides with the COVID-19 pandemic. The internment is not yet scheduled, and a public memorial will be held at a later date.
