Paris Jackson, daughter to Michael Jackson, is set to star in an upcoming film as Jesus Christ. However, people are petitioning to stop its release; multiple sources report Tuesday, June 30.

According to The Guardian, the now-unavailable online petition targeted Warner Bros. and Lionsgate. It denounced the film as "blasphemous" and a "Christianophobic garbage." Moreover, they alleged that Michael Jackson's daughter is set to portray Jesus as "lesbian." While Paris Jackson is attached to play the Messiah, there has been no mention of Jesus being "lesbian" in any reports about the film.

The petition was from an organization named "One Million Moms." In the earlier June 30 news report, it has garnered more than 69,000 signatures.

"Habit" is an indie film marking Janell Shirtcliff's directorial debut. It stars Paris Jackson opposite Bella Thorne. A thriller movie, the story follows Thorne's character. The "Midnight Sun" and "The Babysitter" star plays a "street-smart party girl with a Jesus fetish." The plot will lead her in the middle of a failed drug deal. She tries to escape her situation by pretending to be a nun. Reportedly, Paris Jackson's "gender-bending take" on Jesus will include "a nose ring, tousled waves, and a traditional robe."

Christian Groups Move to Block Paris Jackson's "Habit"

The "One Million Moms" petition is only one of several attempts to block the Paris Jackson film. Movieguide has also led efforts to prevent the release of "Habit." The non-profit ministry aims to redeem "the values of the entertainment industry, according to biblical principles."

According to CBN News, Movieguide argues that releasing "Habit" will "confuse and mislead the minds of our children and new Christians." They have launched their own petition against the film and Paris Jackson's portrayal. It has received more than 100,000 signatures.

Another Christian group, The Christian Film & Television Commission, has also rallied Christians to sign a petition to pull the plug on "Habit." "Hollywood is set to release yet another outrageous and blasphemous movie featuring Jesus Christ," the request said. It argues that the movie will portray Christ as a woman who "engages in a myriad of inappropriate and salacious acts."
