Fans of American Idol season 13 noticed one major player missing from this year's American Idols Live Tour... country crooner Dexter Roberts. On July 11, it was reported that Roberts had left the Idol tour, stirring up questionings about bad blood between the down home boy and the show that brought him fame. However, Roberts has now confirmed that he is, in fact, ill with Rocky Mountain Spotted Tick Fever.

In a post to his Dexter Roberts Music Facebook page, the 23-year-old explained his illness, which was sparked from a turkey hunting trip shortly before the Idol tour kicked off on June 24.

"After the American Idol finale show in May, I went on a turkey hunt in Kentucky. I found several ticks on me throughout the 4 day hunt, but that is nothing unusual for turkey hunting. Shortly after the American Idol tour started, I started having serve headaches, chest pains and muscle weakness on my left side, along with tremendous abdominal issues and shortness of breath. The medical facilities, while on tour, were unable to make a diagnosis. After my return home from the tour I found myself, once again, back at a hospital emergency room, where the doctor discovered a rash in my head from the tick bite," he explained in a lengthy post. "Day before yesterday, the blood work confirmed I have Rocky Mountain Spotted Tick Fever. I started medication yesterday."

Roberts is expected to make a full recovery from the disease, and he noted that he's putting his trust In a higher power. "I know God is in control of my life, and his path will be made clear for my music career. He is my rock and salivation, and I trusting in him," he wrote.

Roberts' diagnoses of the mysterious disease puts rumors to rest that he left the Idol tour due to conflicts with the show, its producers or his fellow performers.

Roberts performed on only four shows on the American Idols Live Tour 2014, performing Florida Georgia Line's "Cruise" with C.J. Harris and solo covers of Luke Bryan's "Muckalee Creek Water" and Georgia Satellite's "Keep Your Hands To Yourself."

He finished in seventh place on Idol season 13, which was eventually won by rocker Caleb Johnson.
