Kelly Clarkson shared how much of a disaster her divorce with husband Brandon Blackstock has become. The pop singer said her life "had been a little bit of a dumpster" since filing a divorce in June.

In an interview with Willie Geist on Sunday Today, Kelly Brianne Clarkson acknowledges that her life has always been a bit of a dumpster, and it is no secret to anyone. But to her, the past few months were a little harder than most. Before going into the divorce, Clarkson and Blackstock were married for over seven years. The couple had two kids during their married life. The American Idol finalist acted as stepmother to two of Blackstock's children from his ex-wife.

The singer shared how she has been dealing with the situation: "I've been talking to friends that have been through a divorce. I don't know how people go through that without having some kind of outlet because it is the worst thing ever for everyone involved."

Clarkson was so preoccupied with the thoughts and stress of divorce that she almost forgot she won an Emmy Award. When her executive producer Alex Duda called her and told her, "You are the best host," she thought it was just a compliment, and she almost started crying. Little did she know that Duda was congratulating her for winning the "Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host" at the Daytime Emmy Awards. Her talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show was also nominated for "Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show."

Blackstock was one of the important people who believed in her to do the talk show host. She acknowledged her ex-husband's contribution via a Twitter post.

Now, the talk show host will return as one of the coaches in singing competition series The Voice. Additionally, she will be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2021. It appears that things are slowly shaping up to her favor.
