BTS captivated their BTS army when they speak in fluent English while doing promotional duties after performing their new single, Butter, on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.'

On Tuesday night, the K-pop idol group consisting of Jungkook, Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Suga, and RM continued promoting their newly-released single, Butter and made news speaking fluent English.

After the performance, BTS participated in a skit called 'BTS Teaches Hand Gestures.'

"A few years ago, we helped popularize finger hearts, a symbol that means love and affection. But that's only one of many popular gestures we use. And tonight, me and the boys of BTS are gonna teach you the rest," RM said while starting the segment.

The 26-year old then continued to show a series of hand gestures, from easy ones to more complex ones that stand for random stuff. Some of these hand signals stand for internal organs, action words such as going for a run, or actions informing another person that there is some morsel of food on their face.

The host, Stephen Colbert, took part in the skit and shared jokes with the group highlighting their haircut preferences. The exchange became more lively and funny, with the group ending it promoting their latest single, 'Butter.'

Working On Their English

The gestures sent ripples of laughter in the audience. The fun did not stop there as K-pop's army continued expressing their admiration on Twitter.

"in all seriousness, that was a pretty long, all-English, comedic segment. it must have required so much practice, and they did amazingly"

"So proud of them they have clearly been working hard on their English, and they're doing very well."

"their English is so fluent now. they have been working so hard and I am so proud of them."

Record-Breaking Number of Views

BTS released their new music this month and had raked in lots of attention and views on Youtube. On its first 24 hours of release, 'Butter' garnered an average of 112 million views. Sources considered that number as record-breaking that made them earn the first and second spots in the Youtube music video Premier rankings.

Since its release, the single gained more views and currently has 118 million views on the platform. This positive audience reception is a new achievement after BTS gained worldwide popularity last year in their single, 'Dynamite.'

Other sources released different statistics on the total number of views for Butter. On the other hand, Spotify reported that the hit single already exceeded 14.8 million streams on the music streaming platform.

A source shared with Newsweek announced that the song has over 3.9 million peak concurrent viewers and 108.2 million views on its first day of release.

BTS's views for 'Butter' defeated Blackpink's Achievement for 'How You Like That that garnered 82.4 million views within its first 24 hours of release.

BTS had its debut performance of 'Butter' via remote execution on Friday during the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. This year, the group received four awards, including the award for the Top/Duo Group, Social Artist award, Song Sales Artist award, and Top Selling Song award.
