BTS shared some of the most well-kept secrets about them, including the story behind their fandom name ARMY.

The past years have been fruitful for BTS. The fact that the group is not part of the K-Pop industry's Big Three companies, its skyrocketing popularity truly broke people's beliefs about the entertainment business in the country.

Now that they reached the top spot, the beloved K-pop group spilled some tea as they debunked rumors surrounding them.

Why BTS' Fans Are Called ARMY

In their recent interview with Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show," the group unceasingly promoted their hit and newest singles "Permission to Dance" and "Butter."

During the same conversation, they shed some light on the rumors about them, including the news about how they almost set "Bell" as their fandom name.

"When you say BTS, it stands for 'bangtan' in Korean, not 'behind-the scenes,' for your information. When you say 'bell' in Korean, it sounds like 'bang wool.' It starts with the same word, 'bang,'" RM, the group's leader, explained.

He added that whenever they brought up the idea of establishing their fandom name, someone would always tell them to use the "bell thing." Fortunately, they left the word and went for ARMY instead as the word "is so much better."

But because of the interview, he joked that he might go by the name of Jimin Fallon to give a nod to Jimmy.

More Secrets About BTS

In the same interview, the group members shared some of the most unknown stories about them.

V, on the other hand, experienced the saddest moment yet. Originally, he only attended the audition to support one of his friends. He ended up becoming a member while his friend failed the tryouts.

Suga, for his part, disclosed that the first physical CD he ever bought was an album by Eminem.

"It was about 15 or 16 years ago, and I really loved his music. Translations for the lyrics weren't available back then, so I really couldn't understand what the lyrics were about," he recalled. He added that his parents approved his passion since they could not understand what the lyrics were saying.

In the end, the group left a message and reminisced how they proved that different people can become close like a family.
