TWICE Jeongyeon needs more time to rest that JYP Entertainment decided to remove her from the girl group's lineup temporarily.

On Monday, JYP Entertainment released a statement confirming that Jeongyeon would not be able to participate in TWICE's Seoul concerts due to health concerns. The nine-piece girl group is scheduled to perform on December 25 and 26.

The agency added that its recent decision was based on the K-pop idol and the members' discussion.

"We apologize for delivering such unfortunate news to the fans who have been waiting for these concerts. As an agency, we will do our best to make sure that our artists can promote in good health," it continued, as translated by Soompi.

For fans who want to see Jeongyeon but now choose to skip the concert because of her absence, JYP Entertainment started offering 100 percent refunds.

It then expressed its gratitude toward the fandom that has been showing anticipation and support for TWICE's world tour.

What Happened to Jeongyeon?

Before canceling her appearance, Jeongyeon had to sit out from group activities in August due to health reasons. At that time, JYP Entertainment said that the singer needed to take a break after showing symptoms of panic and psychological anxiety.

She suffered from the same issues in 2020, causing her to skip her activities again and told her fans she was receiving treatment at a hospital. The agency also confirmed Jeongyeon was suffering from psychological anxiety and was in need of rest and professional medical treatments. On top of that, she also once suffered from herniated discs after getting injured while practicing TWICE's "More & More."

In June, she astonished everyone when she shredded weight for their comeback "Taste of Love." Reports said she lost 8 kg., but during the "Alcohol Free" promotion, she seemingly gained weight temporarily due to her medications.

Many fans were left surprised when her off-shoulder dress showed extreme weight gain. But others understood her situation and asked people not to make fun of her.

On Pann Nate's website, internet users explained that the K-pop idol rested a lot due to her neck injury and anxiety issues. While they helped her feel well, her medications caused Jeongyeon to gain more weight.
