The year 2021 has been jampacked for Disney star Joshua Basset, as he have gone through so much from hospitalization to the release of his songs.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series lead Joshua Basset, opens up to how he was hospitalized in January from suffering a septic shock and a heart attack in Zach Sang's Podcast.

Joshua reveals that he has gotten to a point that he felt like he "was having a heart attack" while filming for the series.

He called on the medic, which somehow dismissed it and advised him only to "take a nap" since he has a history of anxiety. Joshua, however, feels like what he's feeling is something else and proceeds on calling the Production office.

The star was rushed to the hospital and found out that he was "the sickest patient in the hospital" despite having other COVID-19 patients.

Joshua's doctors told him that if he hadn't been rushed to the hospital, he "wouldn't have lasted 12 hours" and the only had 30 percent chance of surviving.

After the shocking news, Basett only focused on healing, despite his song "Only A Matter of Time" being released two hours after.

Three days later, Joshua was informed that his vitals weren't getting any better. Joshua, coming from a religious family, then had what doctor's described as a "medical miracle" an hour after he got "50 times better".

It was also revealed to the 21-year old star was hospitalized due to immense stress. Joshua, in the interview, confirmed that the stress was caused as an aftermath of something that led up to hospitalization.

Two weeks prior, his fellow on-screen partner and rumored girlfriend Olivia Rodrigo, released "drivers license" which fans speculated was about Joshua. Basset received flak and allegations from Rodrigo's fans because of his link-up Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia.

Aside from these, Joshua also said that he is excited on returning to HSMTMTS. "A lot of really great episodes lined up, and it's gonna be, I think the most fun one yet, in terms of writing and moral and all that stuff.", the singer actor confirms.

Joshua opens up about Sexual Abuse on Men

In the same podcast with Zach Sang, Joshua opened up how he was offended when one Twitter user attempted to minimize his sexual assault.

He then took to Instagram to express his "disgust" on the tweet thru a series of stories.

Joshua opened up in an interview with GQ earlier this December, that he had been sexually assaulted when he was still five years old.

The rising artist also revealed that he had been repressing the memory of the assault ever since and had only acknowledged it last year on his therapist.
